US News

  • New York Governor Cuomo said that restaurants would not be allowed to open for indoor dining without a police task force to enforce social distancing. [Link]
  • Seven Rochester New York police officers were suspended for killing David Perdue while attempting to arrest him. [Link]
  • A 12-year-old Colorado boy was suspended because a teacher saw his toy gun during a virtual class. [Link]
  • The Phoenix police killed a man by pinning him to the asphalt for six minutes while it was 100 degrees outside. [Link] 
  • Assange’s extradition is set to resume on Monday. [Link]

Foreign Policy

  • The US is demanding that the Venezuelan opposition not take part in the country’s December election. [Link]
  • The US will begin a month-long deployment of troops and tanks to Lithuania near the border with Belarus. [Link]
  • The US placed sanctions on several companies based in China, UAE, and Iran for supplying petrochemicals to Iran. [Link]
  • The Department of Justice took down the website of the Iraqi Shia militia Ketaib Hezbollah claiming it was a terror site. [Link]

Syria

  • Israeli targeted Shia militias, mainly Ketaib Hezbollah, with airstrikes in Eastern Syria. Sixteen fighters were killed in the attacks. [Link]
