President Donald Trump said that there was an explosion at a Venezuelan dock area used for drug trafficking that was destroyed by the US.
Last week, Trump said in an interview with John Catsimatidis that “They have a big plant or a big facility (in Venezuela) where the ships come from. Two nights ago we knocked that out.”
When asked about that statement on Monday, Trump replied that it “doesn’t matter” if the US was behind the attack, but “there was a major explosion in the dock area where they loaded the boats up with drugs.”

He continued, “They load the boats up with so we hit all the boats, and now we hit the implementation area. That is no longer around.”
Trump previously gave the CIA authorization to conduct covert, lethal operations in Venezuela.
In September, the Department of War began bombing suspected drug boats in the Caribbean that the White House alleged were trafficking narcotics from Venezuela to the US. The White House has labeled Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro as the leader of a narco terrorist cartel.
Congress has not declared war or otherwise given Trump authorization to wage war in Venezuela or against drug cartels.
