Off-Duty Cop Arrested After Exposing Himself to Mother and Daughter at Gas Station

Late last month, a woman and her child stopped at a gas station around 10:00 p.m. to fill up their vehicle and were shocked at what they saw. After making their purchase, the family looked at the tree line across the street from the store and saw a man exposing himself to them.

The mother and child weren’t the only people to witness the man publicly masturbating. At the same time, another woman witnessed it as well and 911 would receive two separate phone calls about the man in the tree line.

Officers with the Daphne police department showed up rather quickly and the man was still there. They were surprised to find that he was one of their own too. Mobile Airport police officer Danny Bell had worked for the Daphne department for twenty years before moving to the airport. Now, he’s facing charges of indecent exposure.

According to local media, Bell left the Daphne police department in 2014 after he was arrested on charges of domestic violence/harassment. Now, he’s once again back on the blotter.

When police showed up at the gas station on Sept. 20, Bell told officers that he wasn’t masturbating. Instead, according to the report, Bell claimed he was exercising—at 10 p.m. in the bushes, with his penis out.

“He denied all allegations,” said Daphne Police Public Information Officer, Heather DeAngelo, according to FOX 10. “Of course, we explained to him what would happen if they did come and sign with the magistrate…press charges. Then, a warrant would be issued for his arrest.”

After his arrest, Bell posted his $500 bond and was released. He will now go to court in a neighboring county after the Daphne judge recused himself from the case because of Bell’s history of working for the city.

Police officers whipping out their junk and masturbating in public seems to be a rather common theme over the years. TFTP has reported on multiple instances very similar to Patterson’s.

As we reported in 2017, police investigators were perplexed after a series of Peeping Tom incidents occurred in their town. On at least three occasions, a man would go up to someone’s home, shine his cell phone light into the window of the home, and when someone eventually noticed the stranger standing in their yard, the man would then turn the light onto himself, spotlighting his exposed genitals.

The mystery, however, was solved two years ago, when police captured their man. No. Literally. He was one of their own. It turns out the Peeping Tom/Flasher villain was a veteran detective of the New York Police Department, who served in a precinct in Brooklyn. Detective Robert Francis was arrested and taken into custody after a homeowner called police to complain of yet another nude flasher. When police arrived, they reportedly found Francis masturbating while peering through a child’s window. Francis was arrested on charges of public lewdness and endangering the welfare of a child.

This problem apparently goes all the way to the top too. As we reported last year, the chief of police for the city of Level Plains, Alabama was arrested after allegedly masturbating in public in an elevator as young children entered and exited. He was also witnessed masturbating while walking down the beach behind various teen girls and filming them showering.

Billy Maurice Driggers, the 44-year-old chief of police, was arrested at the police station last October and charged with four counts of disorderly conduct.
