Anti-War Blog – Journalist Leaked the Plans to Kill Fifty-Three People

It turns out that journalist Jeffrey Goldberg was ‘texted’ two-hours before the recent US attack on Yemen. Pete Hegseth, the US secretary of Defense texted him the war plan which included specific information about weapons to be used, targets and time of the strikes. Goldberg was included in a Signal group of high level US officials, which had the information of the coming attack.

The highest level of the US government, the people who have the power over not only the millions of US citizens but a vast majority of the world exhibited a rather mundane incompetence

It is worth seeing the conversation as a glimpse into the very human and rather unimpressive manner in which those who through the magic of government are granted so much power. Despite the many movies and television shows of impressive meetings and security measures, like most things in life, rather underwhelming and unimpressive.

The people of Yemen are not new to being bombed, starved and droned. They have endured almost a decade of attacks from the Saudi led coalition, that was supported and enabled by the AUKUS nations. Now, it’s the US and Israel that are taking up the mantle in the attacks on the impoverished region.

The Houthi who mostly are the rulers of Yemen have shown their support for the people of Palestine by attacking Israel with long range drone attacks and disruptions to shipping that passes near their coastline. To call the Yemeni maritime assets a navy would be generous but the flotilla at their disposal has harried and caused concern for the US Navy. In fact the engagement with the Houthi was according to the Associated Press, “most intense combat since World War II,” for the US Navy.

The poorest nation in the Middle East managed to survive years of fighting it’s wealthier neighbours and now it’s facing the US and Israel. Both of their militaries are veterans at fighting and at times losing to poor, disorganised regional forces so experience is a key factor for all concerned.

The US Vice President, in the leaked Signal conversation expressed his regrets at attacking the Houthi. Though, it’s unlikely that most Americans are that concerned with Yemen or even care to know where Yemen is. Just another alien location for them to remember simply because the US military is killing the people there. It would however suddenly become a place of note to them should a US warship get hit or is even sunk by the adaptable low budge Houthi who do have access to anti-ship missiles. Luck would need to be on their side, or the US Navy would need to be rather incompetent.

As in most conflicts the victims are the innocent. Those who have no say or choice in the policies made by those who rule, whether it’s those being taxed and regulated by the Houthi or the US government, the innocent suffer.

Meanwhile over in the UK, the current Prime Minister, Starmer is invoking a very English bluster. He is no Winston Churchill but as he stands between two Union Jacks, he moans threats towards Moscow and any other nation on the other side of the EU curtain. With an ailing military, he shakes his fist, the ghost of Maggie Thatcher nowhere in sight. The UK, which a century ago was THE EMPIRE is now becoming the sick man of Europe. In fact, the former sick man of Europe, Turkey has greater influence on the diplomatic and military front than any Saville-ite regime in London. If it was not for the worlds fondness of history, or maybe habit and the fact that the city of London itself still draws in much wealth thanks to despots, oligarchs and it’s stock exchange, most would simply ignore the UK.

But don’t worry those other nations who speak English also like to waggle a finger at the world around them, threats and bribes that can only go so far. It’s all out habit to assume that they are the rulers of the world or at the very least the most important thing about it. The US still has the capacity to blow up tents in the desert, to arm it’s proxies and send warships that can afford to fuel jets for sorties and has enough ammunition to kill suburbs of people. It’s allies on the other hand can’t afford such imperial luxuries.

Recently the Chinese navy sent an expedition around Australia. It was only when a civilian Virgin airlines flight was warned by the Chinese ships that they were about to conduct a live fire exercise that the Australian government became aware of their presence. The Chinese ships circled the continent and did what the Western powers have been accustom to doing, inserting their presence into other regions. Decades ago, the Australian military was called, Imperial Forces, now it’s called the Australian Defence Force. There is nothing defensive about it. It’s still very much an instrument for empire, Washington’s and not London’s. To call it a Defence Force would be naive, in fact it’s ever reliant on the US and since AUKUS has become a dependency.

The coming decades we shall see a shift, those who still hold onto the hubris of their past tendencies to be exposed as paper tigers. The welfare nations of Australia, Canada and the UK may very well be an Austro-Hungarian like carcinogen to their bigger imperial friend, the USA. Meanwhile, key government officials of the US through incompetence shared information to a journalist. In that strike on Yemen, 53 people were killed. Likely all of those killed were innocent people. Goldberg sat on the information until after the attacks, he could have saved lives but instead he waited it out.

In the end for most people in the English speaking nations, dead Yemeni’s are simply not relatable. They are not ‘real’ people to them. Few care. And if they do care, it’s the assumed right of the imperial English speaking nations to attack, starve and terrorise the people of such regions. Whether South-East Asia in the past, Central Asia, Africa or the Middle East, it’s the right of such powerful nations to moan about welfare and diversity and whatever the trending academic interests of the government corporate intelligentsia conjures up, the manure above countless unmarked graves of the innocent. For cultures that secrete have professionalised mental health, they certainly exhibit a tremendous amount of privilege.

There is a scene in the 1995 romantic comedy, The American President, where Michael Douglas plays the fictional president Andrew Shepherd, he exhibits a humanity after ordering an attack on Tripoli, somewhere in Libya right now, a janitor’s working the night shift at Libyan Intelligence Headquarters. He’s going about doing his job… because he has no idea, in about an hour he’s going to die in a massive explosion. He’s just going about his job, because he has no idea that about an hour ago I gave an order to have him killed. You’ve just seen me do the least Presidential thing I do.”

The least presidential thing to do…

In fact, we know that ordering the death of distant strangers is by far the most presidential thing to be done by an American head of state. These are not unknowable monsters, they are just ordinary men. People like those now dead in Yemen, except through the magic of obedience and government they have power, power the kill without guilt or shame.

The biggest thing to come out of all this, is Goldberg’s scoop. That he has screen caps of a conversation on signal, not that fifty three human beings were murdered. What does that say about all of us?

Ep 016 “Fixing Fight Club: Just Say No to NATO: Part Two”

A continued discussion of the NATO debacle. It is time for America to completely reassess alliances and partnership around the world starting with NATO and then working its way down the list of useless and toxic relationships and promises to commit American blood and treasure to flashpoints planet-wide. The sheer insanity of EU/SSR behavior and the total inadequacy of NATO as a military organization across the entire martial spectrum.

NATO insisted after the wall 1989-91 fell that the NATO blob would NOT expand eastward.

It did.

Finland Pokes the Bear

stubb

President Stubb in Finland wants to expand the armed forces in Finland.

Take a look at Finland on a map. Largest contiguous border with Russia in Europe. A population of 5.6 million. 5.6 million in one of the largest countries in Europe. The international border between Finland and Russia is 1,340 km long. Total Army strength is below 50k.

Then Finland joins NATO, the organization that has been provoking the bear for decades. And now they discovered they are in a saber-rattling and frothing-at-the-mouth provocative EU/SSR that is begging for greater conflict with Russia.

Hence all the usual suspects are trying to arm the struggling and bloodied animated corpse of Ukraine to save their own cowardly skins from the threat they created with the inexorable move eastward of the NATO blob.

Buckle up, snowflakes.

Finnish President Alexander Stubb considers the chances of his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin agreeing to a ceasefire in Ukraine are “abysmal.”

“Putin doesn’t want peace,” Stubb said during an interview with the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) aired on Sunday. Putin’s original goal was for Ukraine to “cease to exist,” Stubb said, adding that “he has not changed his goal.”

Carrier Follies Continue Apace

carrier1

The military press seems to be coming around to the conclusion that has been floated here at the Institute for quite some time. The aircraft carrier has seen its time and it is time to retire the tired and anachronistic technology.

Poor concepts, design and planning; serial changes to design during construction; serious operating issues when in sea trials brings it back to be fixed; more serious defects in operations, more insufficient fixes. No one held accountable for the fraud waste and abuse that is yet another US Navy building program committing the government to contract for two more of these monstrosities. Delivered years late and way, way over budget. Like the Zumwalt and the LCS, it was “commissioned” before it actually worked.

The US Navy spends roughly $40 billion annually on shipbuilding projects, yet these projects are regularly behind schedule and battling rising costs.

The USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78) carrier strike group is currently in Composite Training Unit Exercise (COMPUTEX), a rehearsal each US Navy Carrier Strike Group performs before departing for deployment by early summer to the Red Sea, according to U.S. officials familiar with the matter. We’ll see how that works out.

The rise of drones, which can be deployed in kamikaze mode, and/or in buzzing swarms, has proven disruptive to the operations of surface vessels—despite costing a mere fraction of what a surface vessel costs. More concerning perhaps, are improvements in anti-ship missiles and the onset of hypersonic missiles—all of which pose significant threats to surface vessels.

The United States hasn’t lost an aircraft carrier since World War II. In the eighty years since, the standards for what constitutes an acceptable military loss have lowered drastically. Americans are generally not comfortable with the loss of life or technology.

The loss of something like an aircraft carrier would be unfathomable to the contemporary American, and indeed, staggering in its proportions. Thousands of sailors would potentially be lost.

Child Effigies

Child Effigies

There was a time when Rebecca Black and her song, ‘Friday’ was a meme. It was popular for millions of people to tease, torment, stalk and threaten the life of a thirteen year old girl because of a music video, the digital mob was hungry for another child effigy to burn. The vitriolic obsession over Black was especially concentrated among, the screen names of 4chan who thought it would be funny to share online the school, house and class schedule of the teenage girl. Due to events out of her control she had become internet famous which meant she now belonged to the world.

Many people love to hate and love to love famous children, there is a morbid obsession with stars whose childhood is for public consumption. The child watches especially love it when the child star spirals and declines into public misery. It’s not a modern fascination, it is as ancient as Hollywood itself and such child sacrifices are perhaps found in many great civilisations. The modern celebrity child ensures what wealth can be made is bled from the youth, while others molest and abuse. The pedlars of vice profit by ensuring the young stars measure their success with escapist drugs, getting them drunk or stoned or until they, ‘are on the drug that killed River Phoenix,’ a child abused into fame himself. It’s easier to control the recklessly inebriated, they become even more dependent and when it’s time to set them free it appears as though it’s their own fault for their failings. Let’s not forget that Hollywood still gives Roman Polanski a standing ovation.

Generations of children were marched through the controlling Disney fame factory, to be underpaid and paired with abusive adults who would ensure that celebrity finds them but with a big leash attached. To some it’s comical to see Britney Spears dance into the camera on her Instagram, like a broken music box, she still performs as she was trained to do from a young age. She only knows how to entertain, for a time the mob and her handlers loved her for it, and once she became of age they sexualised her until as a woman she, often stumbled in public without the foundation of a healthy childhood.

While E.T. may have gone home, his co-star Drew Barrymore became an alcoholic and junkie as she crawled into puberty, dragged or invited to adult parties throughout the 1980s, she was a regular tabloid fixture and the fodder of muck chuckers who could shame her addictions one minute, then find themselves horny for her antics the next. She seemingly matured and transcended, despite the adults around her tugging at her to remain inside the pit of abuse that only such a culture craves.

From her era was the two Corey’s, both once considered heartthrobs for many girls and women, and it turns out men as well. The two child actors became superstars as they reached their teenage years, often starring together or at least becoming associated with one another. Corey Haim, would struggle with his addictions and the abuse he suffered due while a celebrity, the darkness would swallow him up though as a perverse punctuation we could see the unusually reality of his peril in the slop reality television featuring him and the other Corey, Feldman. There they discuss abuse and the sinister truth of their shared path.

Corey Feldman lives on but also is stuck in a purgatory of shadow fame. He sings and dances in a manner that has not found a serious audience, only those who ironically like him or like to tease him. He is doing what he had done since he was a little boy, face the camera and performed. Now a piece of him wants to keep, perhaps one of the few people from his childhood that did not abuse him alive, Michael Jackson.

The abuse suffered by the Jackson Five is notoriously tragic. It led to super talented children who would perform for millions on stage through the television screen. Enslaved to perform, it was Michael Jackson who broke free of the 1970s only to own the 1980s as one of it’s icons. Despite many claims against him, the child stars who went to his mansion retreat talk about their experiences with him fondly. As though Jackson understood the importance of children having a sanctuary and a place to be a child. A childhood that he never experienced.

One child who speaks fondly of Jackson is Macaulay Culkin, the super star of the 1990s was pushed to be an entertainer by his father. All of this siblings were also groomed to be stars, though it was Mack who became the mega star thanks to his performances in Uncle Buck and the Home Alone films. Once he matured, he became less appealing to the mob that craved the veneer of innocence, cuteness. Mack managed to survive the fate that was expected of him to suffer, and steered a mature path despite the predators and public that eat children. He has gone on to star along side mega star Rich Evans.

Lindsay Lohan, thrived as a child actor with a promising career but the tabloids loved her too, making sure to report on any teenage indiscretions. It was the era of junk magazines, professional paparazzi would lay in the gutter to get an up skirt photo and sell it to such magazines so that their readership could flick through the pages with a self righteous hubris, feeling superior to the person who had a camera pointed at their groin. The teenage star was called, ‘fire crotch’ due to the colour of her hair, in all areas. It was all rather normal and accepted for a youth to be treated this way, the price one must pay for entertaining millions. No privacy or dignity allowed.

Justin Bieber was one child star who was especially loved by girls and women, though his hit, ‘Baby,’ was one of the most disliked videos on YouTube. He became a despised star, and when he ‘matured,’ with generic tattoos and the fashion that is apparently hip, he became another lost icon. He was discovered by lurking adults, such as Ludacris, who scowled the internet for children to sign and make famous.

Music producer, Patrice Wilson adopted this method when he took advantage of the thirteen year old Rebecca Black and her family. Originally her parents wanted to make her a music video, like one of her school friends had done. It was meant to be harmless fun. Patrice produced and edited the video, uploading it before the family even got to see the final product. It was only when it was posted online that the Black’s saw the video for the first time. Millions more would as well. Especially after the heroic screen names of 4Chan zoned in on her and made her infamous to the point of repeated death threats. That’s just what such people like to do to children.

When Miley Cyrus breaks free of her Disney image with a ‘slutty’ image, it’s not widely understood that she did this to be dropped by the corporate masters who wanted her to remain child friendly. In becoming toxic, she could take ownership of her self and talents. Though the outsiders who love to ‘own’ celebrities did not care and when Jo Jo Siwa changed her look, to the point that she now looks like Golddust’s daughter, it’s assumed that she has become, another broken child star. It’s not uncommon to hear Elizabeth Olsen to be described as the ‘normal Olsen’, as though her two twin sisters are condemned for the life that they led from babies until the countdown clock to their, ‘legal status,’ was a choice that they had made together. From adorable babies to fuckable, in a generation of television viewing.

There are many in the industry who love children, and they are loved for loving the children, it took government, royalty and media to conceal the crimes of Jimmy Saville, despite his many victims and so long as Nickelodeon’s Dan Schneider kept producing award winning shows, slime and feet included, his conduct and abuse was ignored. The same can be said of Bryan Singer and other talented directors and producers. Or how a child star agent like Martin Weis could coerce into sex one of his client victims by saying, “this is how you become a star.” The relationship between the LAPD and Hollywood, is a old and close relationship that has ensured children become famous and their terrible moments behind closed doors remain hidden, that’s off course if the public ever cared.

A dude who said, Logan Paul 100,000 times is likely your child’s hero and has surrounded himself with people that love children as well. Celebrity is that funny thing, it’s where someone suddenly loses their rights and dignity simply because they entertained a lot of people, if they happen to be a child the mob seems to love seeing them suffer all the more.

Alana, ‘Honey Boo Boo Child’ did grow up into a woman, the mob that made her famous, moved on, seeking out other ‘freaks’ or children to gorge on. I suppose there are those who will shrug and say, it’s the child’s fault for wanting to be famous. I can’t explain why parents throw their children into the arms of predators, perhaps wealth and fame is enough and why the mob love-hates them so much. Jealousy maybe? The unhealth is in the audience, the mob at home, hungry for more children to live and die before their eyes. Dance little Shirley Temple, dance! Take those drugs to stay skinny Dorothy! The good witch is just an apparition! How dare you play a child Anakin Skywalker! John Connor never did get to grow up in the end…after all it’s just show business.

The Abduction of Mahmoud Khalil

The Trump administration’s abduction and threatened deportation of Mahmoud Khalil, a 30-year-old green-card holder and permanent legal resident of the United States, is horrifying not just for him and his pregnant wife, a U.S. citizen, but as a sign of things to come. Khalil, who is a Syrian-born Algerian of Palestinian descent, has been detained pending deportation without being charged with any crime against persons or property, but because he engaged in speech and other peaceful activities on behalf of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. He was a graduate student at Columbia University at the time.

The government says Khalil’s “presence or activities in the United States would have serious adverse foreign policy consequences for the United States.” That’s absurd. It also says Khalil supports Hamas but provides no evidence. That is all outrageously vague, which is how authoritarian governments always operate. Even speech supporting Hamas is protected under the Supreme Court’s 1969 Brandenburg decision (not to mention natural law). If he’s suspected of committing a specific crime, the government should charge him and give him his day in court. Instead, Khalil was handcuffed and seized at his New York City home and taken to Louisiana where he is to appear before an immigration judge.

However, the system of checks and balances is not dead yet. According to Reuters, “U.S. District Judge Jesse Furman had temporarily blocked Mahmoud Khalil’s deportation [last] week, and extended the prohibition on Wednesday in a written order following a hearing in Manhattan federal court to allow himself more time to consider whether the arrest was unconstitutional.”

It should be noted that the Trump action is a predictable result of the premises that free-immigration opponents subscribe to. Defenders of the action like Secretary of State Marco Rubio hold that Khalil never had a right to be in the United States but was merely permitted initial entry as a guest. Therefore, Rubio and others argue, the government can revoke that permission retroactively, notwithstanding his change in status from student-visa holder to green-card holder.

That’s where bad premises take you.
