Admiral McJackass

What a tool.

Admiral McRaven’s NY Times oped – in which we hear that an anonymous Army general has said: ” ‘I don’t like the Democrats, but Trump is destroying the Republic!’ ”

McRaven explains which “republic” Trump is destroying:

“Those words echoed with me throughout the week. It is easy to destroy an organization if you have no appreciation for what makes that organization great. We are not the most powerful nation in the world because of our aircraft carriers, our economy, or our seat at the United Nations Security Council. We are the most powerful nation in the world because we try to be the good guys. We are the most powerful nation in the world because our ideals of universal freedom and equality have been backed up by our belief that we were champions of justice, the protectors of the less fortunate.”

How is Trump doing it?

“But, if we don’t care about our values, if we don’t care about duty and honor, if we don’t help the weak and stand up against oppression and injustice — what will happen to the Kurds, the Iraqis, the Afghans, the Syrians, the Rohingyas, the South Sudanese and the millions of people under the boot of tyranny or left abandoned by their failing states?”

I guess Trump gets a pass on Yemen, which anyway is apparently not worth mention in Admiral McRaven’s worldview.

Cops Murder Little Boy, Get Away With It, Of Course

Government employees are above the law. They can murder whoever they feel like, including with “high-powered, military-style, assault rifles,” as long as they feel like it.

In this case they were trying to murder an innocent lady but murdered her innocent little boy instead. Then they left him there dying within feet of his bound, innocent father who was not allowed by his overlords to even hold his baby as he died.

Thin blue line, toughguy!

‘Our Focusgroup Has Determined ‘Truth’ is a Great Gimmick This Year’

Not actual truth. Just the word, “truth.” And then, oh, it turns out, not so much.

From the NYT pre-mortem on Kamala “is a cop” Harris’s failed campaign for president:

“Then there was Ms. Harris’s campaign message. Extensive polling led her to believe that there was great value in the word ‘truth,’ so she titled her 2019 memoir ‘The Truths We Hold’ and made a similar phrase the centerpiece of her early stump speech: ‘Let’s speak truth.’ But she dropped the saying out of a belief that voters wanted something less gauzy. …

“For a time, she sought to highlight a pragmatic agenda, about matters she said voters thought about while lying awake at 3 a.m. Today, her aides are given to gallows humor about just how many slogans and one-liners she has cycled through, with one recalling how “‘speak truth’ spring” gave way to “‘3 a.m.’ summer” before the current, Trump-focused “‘justice’ winter.”

Police Officers Are Bad People

The question remains, why do you love government so much? Do you even know?
