Year Zero: Social Media, Another Arm of the US Government?

Year Zero: Social Media, Another Arm of the US Government?

A few days ago Pete Raymond was yet another casualty of deplatforming on Twitter. As the censorship moves into the circle of expression Tommy most associates with he thought it appropriate  to state his thoughts on what we’re looking at.

It’s no secret In-Q-Tel has funded social media outlets in order to mine data. With this in mind one must ask themselves, at what level of cooperation does a corporation lose its status of private? In Tommy’s opinion these companies have crossed that line, and are a tool of intelligence agencies in shaping culture and law in the favor of giving them more power.

Violent Protests In Sudan: Paramilitaries Supported by Saudi Arabia Throw Dead Bodies in River

Paramilitaries in Khartoum threw dozens of bodies into the Nile to try to hide the number of casualties inflicted during a dawn attack on pro-democracy protesters in the Sudanese capital earlier this week, doctors and activists have said.

Heavily armed units of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) continued to sweep through Khartoum and the neighbouring city of Omdurman on Wednesday. Residents blocked many roads with makeshift barricades as they tried to protect their neighbourhoods from the paramilitaries and thieves.

The leader of the paramilitary forces is Mohamed Hamdan Dagolo who is supported by Saudi Arabia and has been supplying troops to fight against the Houthi’s in Yemen.

More importantly the deputy president of the council, Mohamed Hamdan Dagolo, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia leader known as Hemedti, met the Saudi crown prince, Mohammed bin Salman, in Jeddah on 24 May, and pledged to stand with the kingdom against all threats, including Iran. He vowed Sudanese troops would continue fighting alongside Saudi Arabia against the Houthi rebels in Yemen.

David Bergland, RIP: 1984 Libertarian Party Candidate for President

I am sorry to announce that David Bergland has died at the age of 83. He had been battling prostate cancer.

Bergland was the 1984 presidential candidate of the Libertarian Party. He was also the 1976 candidate for Vice-President.

I met David in 1973 and worked closely with him during my time in the Libertarian Party. He was a principled promoter of freedom and peace and was a leader in the anti-interventionist wing of the Libertarian Party during the 1970s and 1980s. He was the author of Libertarianism in One Lesson.

Olli Heinonen is a Liar

Here he tells Israeli Army Radio,

“Iran is actually weaponizing uranium enrichment without making a weapon.”

Even the Times of Israel, a rightwing paper, characterized this as a “claim,” since it’s obvious on the face of it that Heinonen is lying.

Iran is either enriching Uranium up to over 90 percent U-235, “weapons grade,” or they’re not. They’re not.

Human Rights Group B’Tselem Creates Interactive Map of 52 Year Israeli Settlement Growth

“This visualization of the occupation shows how a combination of measures – annexation; establishment of settlements; declaration of ‘state land,’ firing zones, nature reserves and national parks; construction of the Separation Barrier; division of the West Bank into Areas A, B and C with varying forms of control; and severing the Gaza Strip from the West Bank – has broken up Palestinian space into separate units that are easier to control in isolation,” B’Tselem said.

through the annexation efforts Palestinian communities are more isolated from one another and therefore are “easier to control” by the Israeli government.
