Trump Renounces Iran Regime Change

“I really believe that Iran would like to make a deal, and I think that’s very smart of them, and I think that’s a possibility to happen. It has a chance to be a great country with the same leadership. We aren’t looking for regime change — I just want to make that clear. We are looking for no nuclear weapons,” Trump said.

This poor dumb bastard stupid ass old most powerful man in the world.

Just last weekend he blamed the Military Industrial Complex for hawking it up on every issue, but on Iran he’s the one who’s worse even than them.

Whatever Netanyahu, Adelson and bin Salman want and want him to believe is more important than his own lying eyes, which tell him that the whole imperial project is a giant rent-seeking fraud. It’s really too bad that Trump is such a bad person. He sincerely does not believe in much of the false religion in DC which requires a permanent American global dominance in the name of “liberalism,” and “leadership” and a bunch of crap. But boy does he love vicariously kicking butt and acting and talking all tough. And politically, Iran is the perfect scapegoat. Why would he care enough not to go along with the hawks, at least this far?

Again I don’t think that he does want war, but he or his “friends” in the region are in a much better position to provoke one now than they have been in a long time, thanks to Trump.

It’s just like Tom Woods’ law says: No matter whom you vote for, you always wind up getting John McCain.

Trump says he wants a better deal and that he believes the Iranians are ready to capitulate to some new and “better” deal than the JCPOA. That could not be further from the truth. If he wanted a better deal — say, longer sunset clauses on some nuclear work, limits on mid-range missiles — the only way to get that would have been to build on the existing deal with new talks based on mutual respect.

The same John Bolton and Mike Pompeo who are telling Trump that Iran is now hurting so badly economically that they’re ready to go along with some new “deal” imposed on them by the likes of John Bolton and Mike Pompeo are the same John Bolton and Mike Pompeo who told him the same thing about Venezuela in their last three failed coup attempts there in the last 5 months.

Let’s hope Trump is just lying and not really basing policy on these ridiculous claims.

After Moral Injury: Backing Through A Side Door Into Consciousness

On Memorial Day Bill R. Edmonds on war and moral injury :

“Some do not get to come home. For those who do, however, some bring their wars home, within them. Too often, they go on to suffer alone, and in silence.

Too often, their traumas last a lifetime.

Healing, however, is both learned and possible. This issue is personal, as war should be for everyone.”

War changes you. Changes you.

Strips you, strips you of all your beliefs,

your religion, takes your dignity away,

you become an animal

Frontline Documentary “One Day in Gaza” pulled from PBS

Alison Weir, the Director of If Americans Knew reports at Unz Reveiw that PBS stations around the country have pulled a Frontline documentary on the violence in Gaza.

PBS stations around the U.S. were scheduled to show a riveting new Frontline documentary, “One Day in Gaza,” but at the last minute PBS pulled it.

The film is missing important context about the issue, but it includes footage that Americans, as Israel’s top funders, should see – including a young, unarmed teen being shot in her head.

BBC, the coproducer of the film, broadcast it to British viewers. We are posting it below so that Americans can also view it.

Allison’s article provides more context (she states the film does have flaws) to the film which includes the background of Israelis they interview.  One Israeli she describes is an American that migrated to Israel in 1975 and lives in Nirim kibbutz on the border with Gaza.  Allison writes:

“Despite being located in a desert, it has green grass and a swimming pool. A little over a mile away, Gazans are enduring a water crisis that has caused Gazan children to suffer from diarrhea, kidney disease, and impaired IQ.”

But the film cannot do everything, and it does some things extremely well. Overall, it’s not difficult to see why Israel partisans would not wish it broadcast to Americans.

It shows footage that the American public almost never sees. It was this kind of footage that eventually led to Americans ending the Vietnam war.

One of the main take-aways from the film is the extreme ruthlessness of Israeli forces.
