‘Private Companies’ Will Do The States Bidding – ‘Vaccine Passports’ Edition

COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic and travel concept, COVID-19 note in passport. Novel corona virus outbreak, spread of epidemic from China. Quarantine of tourists infected with SARS-CoV-2.

I’ve pretty much resigned myself to the fact that until the day I shuffle off this mortal coil I’m going to be subjected to the “it’s a private company” argument from “libertarians.” They’ve spread this asinine slogan so far and wide that they have progressives and neo-liberals now quoting it. Whereas the “libertarian” spews this “private company” rhetoric out of laziness and dogma, the other two groups are using it to push a totalitarian agenda in whatever way they can.

The latest, and possibly most important, fumble for “libertarians” is the “Vaccine Passport.” “So, what’s the problem, bro? The State doesn’t own the airlines. They’re private. If they don’t want anti-vaxxers on their planes, that’s between them and their stockholders, bro!” Is this quote hyperbolic? Maybe. Will you hear the spirit of it from “libertarians?” Everyday single day and twice on Sunday. It is a testament to the lack of nuanced thinking that is so prevalent among people in the ideology. Especially those that refuse to study beyond theory and are living in Ancapistan in their minds.

Understand what this Vaccine Passport creates; you are looking at the construction of a “class” system. One that is not based on wealth or bloodlines but based on whether or not you adhere to the dominant political ideology of the culture. And remember, this prevailing ideology is not held by the majority, but by a small, influential minority consisting of the corporate press and academia who are in lockstep with the State. These are your culture-creators, not family or community.

As of right now, this “passport” is being marketed as a document to be carried with you at all times. There may even be some enterprising individuals out there who have templates and are providing a service to people who wish to avoid these experimental “vaccines.” But let’s not fool ourselves, an app is most likely already being developed and as soon as they can make it happen, it will be required to be installed on your phone. And if you believe that the government is not going to use all its influence to ensure that every private business is checking every person at the door, you have not tried to enter a “private” business in the last year without wearing a mask. Anyone making the argument that the decision to require masks was made by supermarkets, hasn’t talked with a supermarket owner who tried to remove the “private” mask-mandate.

Make no mistake, the State wants this “passport” to be a reality. Why else would the president be talking about it? Once they require you to have that app on your phone, the precedent is set for them to require all manner of information you must carry. And don’t forget to consider that this provides law enforcement an even broader scope to stop you. The days of the “Terry Stop,” the pat down for weapons, have ended. Now you are being accosted to determine whether you are “unclean” or “State Approved.”

For over twelve months I’ve been making the argument that society has been fundamentally changed forever. The statements that this “vaccine passport” will allow things to “go back to normal” is absurd on its face. We have never needed a “health passport” before to fly, to attend functions, etc. There is an assumption that this is going to happen eventually, no matter what happens with COVID numbers or how many speak out. At least now, with enough resistance, we can kick the can down the road a bit. Although, it may be better for it to happen now under a Democratic president while the Right – the people who own all the firearms – are more “vigilant” towards tyranny. However this plays out, rest assured we will have less liberty than we have at the moment you’re reading this.
