U.S. Navy is a Joke
Their obsolete-before-they're-even-made new aircraft carriers don't work worth a damn. Meanwhile the carrier reduced to slag in San Diego was meant to host the marines' F-35, whose vertical takeoff mode burns holes right through the decks of other carriers. Don't worry though. The experts insist you just have to believe harder for a little longer....
Trump Instructs Navy to Shoot Down Iranian Ships
On FPF #483, I discuss Trump's lastest foolish threat to Iran. Trump tweeted that he is instructing the Navy to 'shoot down' Iranian ships that harass American Navy ships. If Trump's orders are followed it could provoke a shooting war between the US and Iran. Thankfully, senior Pentagon officials signaled they plan to keep the same rules of engagement in the Persian Gulf. Links The Intercept - 3 states spy on prison...
The US Is Making More Weapons in Response to Coronavirus
On FPF #476, I discuss the US government is buying more weapons and giving financial support to the weapons markers. The finical assistance was approved through the $2 trillion bailout. The Navy announced it was buying an additional $2 billion in torpedos and missiles to prop up companies who make parts for weapons. The defense industry has been deemed essential, and employees are allowed to violate social distancing to make weapons. While the coronavirus should be revealing to the American people and the US government, we spend too much money on warfare. However, the pandemic is being...
US Navy Evacuating Aircraft Carrier Infected by Coronavirus
ABANDON SHIP! While you're at it: abandon the empire.
COVID-19 Has Taken an Aircraft Carrier Out of Commission
Task and Purpose: The aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt will be pulling into Guam so that each of its nearly 5,000 sailors can be tested for COVID-19, the Navy announced on Thursday. The announcement comes days after Acting Navy Secretary Thomas Modly said three sailors aboard the carrier were diagnosed with the virus and flown from the ship. News reports since then showed the number had increased to at least 23 and that the “number is changing.”
