Former Energy Secretary Ernest J. Moniz and former Senator Sam Nunn have a new article in Foreign Affairs about the nuclear weapons crisis between the United States and Russia. We can't run it as a viewpoint since the authors accept false conventional narratives about the wars in Georgia and Ukraine, the Russiagate hoax and some other things in the article. However, it's still really worth a read since they make many important points about the U.S. role in exacerbating the second Cold War from its side, and what could be done instead. Check it out here.

8/9/19 Eric Margolis on the Dangers of Nuclear War Between India and Pakistan
Scott interviews Eric Margolis about the recent legal change that will now allow non-Kashmiris to buy land in Kashmir. Kashmir is majority Muslim, and has been the subject of territorial disputes between India and Pakistan for years. The fear is that the legal change will allow the Indian government to slowly annex pieces of Kashmir away from (at least nominally) independent control by sending settlers there. Scott stresses the added danger that since both sides of the conflict have nuclear weapons, all it takes is one use of a tactical nuke by a general on one side to open up an entire war...

Wealthy Jewish donors meet to decide how to spend their money influencing American politics to help Israel. In this case, they've decided to go after Rep. Rashida Tlaib for supporting BDS. Ron Kampeus writes: At the Jewish federation round table, there was a consensus: The Palestinian-American freshman in the 13th District has got to go. ... “We in this community will go against Rashida Tlaib,” said Lisa Lis, a philanthropist who is also a contributor to Democratic candidates, and who otherwise during the roundtable was vocal in her criticism of President Donald Trump. There were nods around...

There are races in the world and nations that have genetic attributes, and that demands that we [the Jewish people] will think of how to help...

8/9/19 Hunter DeRensis on the Dangerous Foreign Policy of ‘National Conservatism’
Scott interviews Hunter DeRensis about the National Conservatism Conference, part of a movement that DeRensis describes as trying to come up with intellectual rationalizations for Trumpism after the fact. Crucially, this new national conservatism movement did not exist to support Trump as a candidate, nor did it foresee or advocate something like Trump's policies. It has instead emerged as a means to make them seem wise and acceptable by coming up with justifications that may or may not be those that Trump and his populist allies actually intended. More pressingly, the foreign policy of many...
