Booker: ‘I got to the US Senate to stand up for the State of Israel’

Asked if PM Netanyahu is a racist, U.S. Senator Cory Booker responded:

“You know, what I think very strongly, sir, is that we have a crisis with Israel right now. Israel is less safe under this president than it was before. We literally have a president right now that has allowed Iran to have a superhighway through Syria; that literally announces by tweet that he’ s pulling our troops out which puts Israel more at risk. We have a president who is breaking [the] tradition of Democratic and Republican presidents in the past by turning his back on the commitment to a two-state solution. We have a president that’s not doing what he should be doing to protect that region. He’s pulling away from a nuclear deal now as he’s making Iran go perilously towards it.”

“I know you have these interesting questions, but I got to the United States Senate to stand up for our allies and for the State of Israel and this is a president who is making the United States weaker and making Israel more vulnerable.”

Previously:

“If I forget thee, o Israel, may I cut off my right hand.”

These are the Democrats.

Nick Gillespie And Why Government Oppression Creates Rock And Roll

On Thad Russell’s podcast, he featured a discussion between himself and Dave Smith and Nick Gillespie.  Admittedly, this was a major pull, and a fantastic piece of media.

Among the many great things said, Nick Gillespie commented on the libertarian commitment to end public schooling.  His point was that, without public schools, could we have Pink Floyd’s “Brick In The Wall”.  Whatever his reason, he expressed concern that a world without public school would be a world without Rock And Roll.

It’s a fascinating point, one I’d piggyback on.

The Return of Doomsday

Former Energy Secretary Ernest J. Moniz and former Senator Sam Nunn have a new article in Foreign Affairs about the nuclear weapons crisis between the United States and Russia.

We can’t run it as a viewpoint since the authors accept false conventional narratives about the wars in Georgia and Ukraine, the Russiagate hoax and some other things in the article. However, it’s still really worth a read since they make many important points about the U.S. role in exacerbating the second Cold War from its side, and what could be done instead.

Yemen: Fighting Between Saudi Forces UAE Forces In Southern Yemen

Hard to believe the situation in Yemen could get any worse but now their are reports of Saudi and UAE forces fighting in Southern Yemen.

From the BBC

Yemeni separatists have taken effective control of the port city of Aden after days of fighting with troops loyal to the internationally backed government.

Forces aligned with the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) – which wants an independent south – said they had seized control of military camps and the presidential palace.

The opposing Saudi-led coalition said it had responded with military action.

The government itself characterised the STC’s seizure of Aden as a “coup”.

Coalition forces had called on the STC to withdraw from their positions in Aden or face further action. It said it launched its strike against a “threat” to the country’s government.

Nasser Arrabyee is reporting that Yemenis are fleeing Aden to Sanaa because of the fighting between the two factions.

Doctors Without Borders on Saturday described Aden as “a battlefield” and said its hospital there was “stretched to the limit”. It said it treated 119 patients in less than 24 hours amid the fighting.

Nasser is interviewed here on the current situation.

As usual we hear nothing about this from the US media.  The people of Yemen though know exactly who is responsible for the death and destruction of their people and country.
