COI #59 – Save the Whales and Yemen!

On COI #59, Kyle Anzalone discusses several recent news stories. A new study finds US sonar tests are killing whales in the Pacific. The sonar is for detecting submarines but it likely causing marine life to become beached and die. Several Senators in Guam are trying to prevent the US from continuing the sonar activities.

Trump’s designation of the Houthi as a terror group will severely limit the amount of remittance sent to the county. The World Bank believes 10% of people in Yemen rely on money sent from people in other countries. The sanctions will prevent money transfers to Yemen. The UN warns the country is on the brink of the world’s worst crisis in 40 years.

COI #58 – Maj. Danny Sjursen on Ethiopia, Mali, and the Chances Biden Starts a War

On COI#58, Maj. Danny Sjursen, USA (ret.) joins Kyle Anzalone to break down Ethiopia, Mali, and Biden’s foreign policy team. Danny gives a brief history of Ethiopia and explains how the country’s conflicts with its neighbors. Danny explains how the Ethiopian Prime Minister won the peace prize, then use the prize to further his war efforts. He also breaks down Ethiopia’s internal politics and the recent civil war (plus the ongoing insurgency.)

Danny and Kyle discuss the civil war in Mali and the French intervention. Post-Libyan War France has been fighting jihadists groups throughout the Sahel region. In recent weeks, five French soldiers have died. France is now looking to exit West Africa. Danny and Kyle examine the neocons and humanitarian interventionists that are coming to power in the Biden administration and how they could expand America’s War on Terror.

Don’t Start A Domestic Terror War, Impeach Trump For War Crimes In Yemen

Connor Freeman, writer at The Libertarian Institute, returns to the show to discuss the Trump administration’s decision to name the Houthi a terrorist organization. The Houthi govern most of Yemen’s population. The designation will make it extremely difficult to bring aid into Yemen without violating US sanctions. The result will be pushing the country further in famine and adding to the massive quarter-million death toll.

Democrats are ignoring Trump’s many war crimes in Yemen to focus on exploiting the Capitol Riot. The Democrats, and most of the mainstream media, have engaged in wild threat inflation calling the event a domestic terrorist coup. While the mob turned violent, calling the protesters ‘terrorists’ is absurd and dangerous. Many elected officials, while comparing the riot 9/11, are calling for a new domestic war on terror.

Here Comes Domestic Terrorism Laws and Big Tech Censorship

On COI #56, Dave DeCamp, assistant news editor at antiwar.com, returns to the show. Dave and Kyle discuss the reaction to the violent protests at the capital. The establishment labeled the violent mob a coup attempt as a coup, insurrection, and domestic terrorism. Elected leaders have compared the event to 9/11 and Pearl Harbor. Dave and Kyle battle the threat inflation and argue against a heavy-handed response.

Dave also breaks down recent news on the arctic, China, Russia, and Iran.

COI #55 – Is Trump Plotting a Coup in the US or Regime Change in Iran?

On COI #55, Connor Freeman returns to the show to talk about the unrest at the US Capitol and Biden’s Iran policy. Yesterday, Trump supports pushed past police lines and broke into the Capital Building as Congress was voting to affirm the Electoral College vote. The unrest forced a temporary halt to the congressional proceedings, Biden’s electoral victory was certified by Congress later in the day. Law enforcement murdered a woman as they were trying to force Trump supporters out of the Capital.

Kyle and Connor discuss if Trump attempted a coup, the treatment of Trump supporters by police, and the impact this will have on the country.

Connor breaks down Biden’s potential Iran policy. He first explains how Israel and the US deep state worked to push Trump into a more aggressive policy against Iran. Then, Kyle and Connor discuss how Biden’s hawkish cabinet will likely push him against returning to the JCPOA and removing sanctions against Iran. The Trump administration has also taken a very aggressive anti-Iran policy since Trump’s election defeat. Hawks in Trump’s cabinet like Mike Pompeo are constraining Biden’s ability to improve the relationship with Iran by aggressive military maneuvers and additional sanctions.

No Extradition, No Justice: Assange Remains Behind Bars

On COI #54, Kyle discusses Julian Assange being denied bail after a judge ruled against his extradition to the US. The denial of bail is further proof the prosecution of Assange has nothing to do with justice. The goal of the US, UK, and Sweden is to keep Assange behind bars to punish him for exposing war crimes.

While governments focus on keeping the people who expose their crimes behind bars, criminals acting on behalf of the state continue to go free. The Kenosha officer who paralyzed James Blake will not face charges. Victoria Nuland, who empowered neo-Nazi factions in Ukraine by orchestrating a coup in 2014, will be nominated for a high-level State Department position. Brett McGurk, who resigned to prevent Trump from ending an illegal war, will be given an advisor position in Biden’s NSC.

Huge Victory for Julian Assange!

On COI #53, I discuss the UK judge’s ruling against the US extradition request for Julian Assange. The US is seeking Assange to punish him for revealing their war crimes through his media outlet, WikiLeaks. WikiLeaks is critical to exposing government wrongdoing. Julian Assange’s extradition case was critical to free speech and journalism.

The victory may be somewhat more hallow than it appears. The judge ruled in favor of the prosecution on every issue, except that Assange faced a likely suicide risk if he was extradited. The US will likely appeal the ruling and Assange will have a bail hearing on Wednesday.

2020 Exposed the State as the Enemy

On Conflicts of Interest #52, I discuss how the murderers of Tamir Rice and Breonna Taylor went unpunished by the state. While the cops who murdered Taylor eventually were fired, they will not face punishment for their crime. The FDA recently announced distilleries that made hand sanitizer would have to pay a $14,000 fee. The massive backlash from people forced the FDA to reverse its decision.

Axios reported a rumor that China paid bounties to someone in Afghanistan at some point but the intelligence is unconfirmed and sources are unwilling to go on record. The vague rumor is increasing pressure in the US for tensions with China. While the US sails guided-missile destroyers just miles from China’s coast.
