Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky believes his Vatican meeting with President Donald Trump successfully nudged the American leader to take a more aggressive stance towards Russia. Following the meeting with Zelensky, Trump suggested he might add more sanctions on Moscow.

Two months into Israel’s latest siege of Gaza, an American official argued to the International Court of Justice that Tel Aviv is within its rights to deprive Palestinians of food, medicine, and other aid.

Following the sit-down, Trump said he did not believe President Putin was committed to peace and posted that he would be adding new sanctions on Russia. Prior to the talks with Zelensky, Trump said a peace deal was close. 

The head of the North Atlantic alliance is traveling to the US for meetings with top officials in the Donald Trump administration. Secretary General Mark Rutte is expected to push the White House not to force Ukraine into a peace deal with Russia.
