Elon and the Magnificient Twitter Deal

elon musk (3018710552) (1)

As if repudiating the cultural zeitgeist, Elon Musk has decided to purchase Twitter, a large social media platform, to add to his stack of companies like Tesla, SpaceX, Starlink, and the Boring company. While he has taken several unique perspectives, from fighting against population decline (citing it as a major problem), the Ghislaine-Epstein child sex trafficking scandal, and colonization of Mars, he seems to be a free speech absolutist. Musk believes that freedom of speech is not constrained by the feelings of an individual who hears it, that everyone should be allowed to speak, and...

Cops Wake Up Unarmed, Sleeping Man Just to Kill Him As He Raises His Hands

benitez 1050x525

The city of Mesa, Arizona settled a lawsuit with the family of a young man who was killed by police in September of 2020. As TFTP previously reported, Angel Benitez was found asleep in a car which was reported stolen. Benitez, for whatever reason, drove away from officers and stopped at an apartment complex in Mesa near the cross streets of University and Evergreen. Upon exiting the vehicle, bystanders reported Benitez had his hands raised when cops opened fire, killing the 21-year-old. The City of Mesa recently settled a civil lawsuit with the family for $250,000. Benjamin Taylor, the...

COI #290: Biden Dumps Another Billion in Weapons on the Ukrainian Battlefield

coi290

On COI #290, Kyle Anzalone and Connor Freeman cover the continuing U.S. escalations against Russia and Iran. Kyle breaks down the recently announced $1 billion U.S. military aid package headed for Kiev. It includes, for the first time, Harpoon anti-ship missiles as well as increased munitions for the long range rocket systems sent earlier this month. Rep. Adam Smith, head of the House Armed Services Committee, is saying the administration is being  “too cautious.” Smith demands “aggressive” military aid including killer drones and longer range munitions for the High Mobility Artillery...

No Charges for Cop Who Ran Over and Killed Wounded, 911 Caller

cruiser runs over man 1050x525

A year ago, on June 13, 2021, 42-year-old Eric Cole called 911 for help, like he was supposed to do, after he was shot in the arm. However, police were the first to show up on the scene and help was the last thing Cole received. In fact, he received the exact opposite—and it killed him. Police Chief Lee Graf referred to the negligence of one of his officers—Amanda Rosales—as an “accident,” which left Cole dead. While it may not have been on purpose, dashcam video shows it was completely avoidable. Eric Cole lie bleeding on the ground from a gunshot wound to the forearm when officer...

US Official Admits Russian Energy Sales Outpacing Pre-War Levels

article

US energy security envoy Amos Hochstein has acknowledged that Russia might be making more revenue from fossil fuels than before its February invasion of Ukraine. Washington has responded with waves of sanctions aiming to crush the Russian economy.  Hochstein made the comments during a hearing for the Senate Subcommittee on Europe and Regional Security Cooperation. In response to a question about whether Moscow was making more money now off its fossil fuel sales, Hochstein said, “I can’t deny that.” In May, the International Energy Agency said that Russia's oil revenue was up 50% this...

10 “Pro-Choice” Arguments – DEBUNKED (w/ Kristan Hawkins)

https://youtu.be/vgo8Uys-Xs4 The glory of the human race is the uniqueness of each individual, the fact that every person, though similar in many ways to others, possesses a completely individuated personality of his own. It is the fact of each person’s uniqueness — the fact that no two people can be wholly interchangeable — that makes each and every man irreplaceable and that makes us care whether he lives or dies, whether he is happy or oppressed. And, finally, it is the fact that these unique personalities need freedom for their full development that constitutes one of the major...

Actually, Socialism IS When the Government Does Stuff

img 1604

Of course, that is too honest to be a real Karl Marx quote. It is a popular meme that is used to mock the allegedly misguided view of many who oppose socialism. It has been famously paraphrased by prominent socialist, Richard Wolff. “Socialism is when the government does stuff; and it's more socialism the more stuff it does; and if it does a real lot of stuff, it's communism.” These comments were made sarcastically, as socialists do not believe that “government doing stuff” accurately sums up their ideology. I intend to argue that it does. Let me be clear: I am not proposing an alternate...
