Trump’s Pardons

Trump’s Pardons

On Conflicts of Interest #51, Kyle breaks down Trump’s recent pardons. Trump’s pardons included high-profile names like Roger Stone and George Papadopoulos. Trump also pardoned several lesser-known non-violent drug offenders. Many of the people Trump pardoned never deserved to be in jail.

As always, Trump’s pardons were a mixed bag. He is also releasing the war criminals who killed 17 Iraqis, including two boys, at Nisour Square in Baghdad. Two deranged police officers who harmed people for no reason are being pardoned and released back into our communities.

Congress Gives Billion to Foreign Governments and Pennies to Americans

On COI #50, Kyle breaks down the $2.4 trillion dollar spending bill passed by both houses of Congress. Many of our Representatives are pitching the $600 check each American will receive as a huge boon for us. However, the bill gives billions to foreign countries while putting Americans on the hook for $10,000s of dollars of debt.

The bill gives $3.3 billion and $1.3 billion to the oppressive governments in Israel and Egypt. It includes hundreds of millions of dollars in funding to regime change operations in Hong Kong, Tibet, China, Iran, Venezuela, North Korea, and Russia.

Biden to Target Russia with Cyber, Economic Warfare as New Start Dies

On COI #49, I discuss how the fictional Russiagate narrative created a real hysterical that is killing off nuclear treaties between the US and Russia. The last remaining agreement is the New Start Treaty. The treaty is set to expire on February 5th.

Joe Biden has claimed that he wants to extend the key agreement. However, he is now planning a cyber-attack or new round of sanctions on Russia for when he takes office.

Biden is planning the attack based on the evidence-free claim that Russia was behind a recent hack into the US Treasury Department. If Biden opens his term by launching cyber or economic warfare against Russia, it could seal the fate of the agreement that caps US and Russian nuclear stockpiles.

Who Will Trump Pardon?

On COI #48, Kyle discusses what major pardons Trump could handout before leaving office. While it is unlikely, Julian Assange, Ross Ulbrich, and Edward Snowden have had their names floated as potential receivers of pardons. However, even if Trump decides to pardon any of these men, he will likely be talked out of it by the establishment figures in his administration.

Russia has offered the US the chance to extend the New Start Treaty for one year. It is unclear if the US will accept the offer to save the one remaining nuclear arms control agreement. While Biden seems more interested in saving the treaty than Trump does, Biden has also committed himself to an aggressive diplomatic/sanctions policy against Russia that could make extending the treaty difficult.

‘Trump Didn’t Start Any Wars’ guest Connor Freeman

On COI #47, Connor Freeman joins Kyle to discuss Trump’s foreign policy record. Trump supports will claim that he is the most antiwar president and hasn’t started any wars. Trump opponents claim the president is an isolationist, that he abandoned our allied, and took orders from Russia.

Connor and Kyle debunk all of these myths and get into Trump’s true foreign policy record. Trump’s largest failure was his decision to get out of the Iran Nuclear Deal and started an economic/asymmetrical war with Iran. Trump also expanded the ongoing wars in Syria, Somalia, Yemen, and Afghanistan.

Trump also tiled the US towards ‘Great Power Conflicts’ with Russia and China. Tensions have increased dramatically in the waters around China. The outgoing president destroyed key arms control deals with Russia.

Conflicts of Interest #46 – Biden’s Morrell Hazard guest Joanne Leon

On COI #46, Joanne Leon – Host of Around the Empire – returns to the show to talk about Biden’s likely pick for CIA Director, Mike Morrell. Morrell was involved in lying the US into the Iraq War. While he admits he made mistakes in the lead-up to the war, he deflects responsibility for his role in forming the intelligence for Colin Powell’s infamous UN speech.

Kyle and Joanne discuss the Electoral College vote and how we got to this point.

Biden’s SecDef Is a War Profiteer

On COI #45, Kyle discusses Biden’s pick for Secretary of Defense, Gen Lloyd Austin. Austin retired from the military four years ago. His recent departure from the military puts the civilian control of the military in question and will require Austin to get a waiver from Congress to sit as Pentagon Chief.

Since leaving the military, Austin has enjoyed a board seat at the military-industrial-complex giant Raytheon. Austin is also a partner at Pine Island Capital Partners, a company that owns smaller MIC firms. With these positions, the former general cemented his ties with the war party.

As a general, Austin was commander of US Forces in Iraq in 2010. In that role, he advised Obama to keep 24,000 troops in Iraq. However, the Iraqi forces to sign a new agreement with the US forcing the pullout of US troops in 2011.

By 2013, Austin was promoted to head of CENTCOM. As CENTCOM chief, Austin pushed for US troops to reenter Iraq, then Syria, to combat ISIS. He also oversaw the US support for Saudi’s genocide in Yemen, starting in 2015.
