https://youtu.be/WnvtYw_QKQE Critics often dismiss private law by alleging that disputes between enforcement agencies would lead to combat — even though this happens between governments all the time! In truth, the incentives for peaceful resolution of disputes would be far greater in market anarchy than the present system. Combat is very expensive, and private companies take much better care of their assets than government officials take care of their subjects’ lives and property. - Robert P. Debate: Democratic Socialism v. Libertarianism (Dr. Phil Armstrong v. Keith Knight)

Economic Truths My Professor Lied About (w/ David Bahnsen)
https://youtu.be/8jK-rT-0SCk Defenders of free enterprise do not believe in a perfect administration under a market economy. Rather, we do not believe in the possibility of such. To the extent imperfect decision-making is accepted, we then seek to solve for who has the best chance of answering the question correctly, he with local knowledge or he without? He who will reap the consequences of his decision, or he who will not? David L. Bahnsen, There’s No Free Lunch: 250 Economic Truths David L. UN Says Two-Month Yemen Ceasefire Agreed Upon, Saudis Will Ease Blockade
As Ramadan gets started, the UN announced a surprise breakthrough on the ceasefire in Yemen, which appeared unlikely until today. They now say both sides have agreed to a full two-month ceasefire, beginning Saturday. This will be the first nationwide truce in Yemen in years, and gives the war-weary population a nice break. UN officials say the truce is negotiated so it could be voluntarily extended easily. The UN started with a ceasefire meant for just the month of Ramadan, but the Houthis were resisting when it didn’t include any easing of the naval blockade. Exact terms aren’t public...
Announcing the Institute’s New Managing Editor: Keith Knight
As we kick off our Spring funddrive, I figure now is a good time to announce the promotion of our great colleague Keith Knight to managing editor of the Libertarian Institute. I've been very proud to have him associated with the Institute and will now be very glad to share a masthead with him too. Stay tuned. Keith's new book will be coming out soon! I have also added my good friends and associates Will Porter and Connor Freeman to the team. They are both hardcore...
