IG Report: Army Risks Wasting Nearly $22 Billion on Visual Augmentation System

ivas

A Department of Defense Inspector General report on the Army’s Integrated Visual Augmentation System (IVAS) program reveals potentially billions in waste.  The Pentagon audit found, “IVAS program officials did not define minimum user acceptance levels to determine whether IVAS would meet user needs. This occurred because Army policy did not require program officials to define suitable user acceptance levels. Procuring IVAS without attaining user acceptance could result in wasting up to $21.88 billion in taxpayer funds to field a system that Soldiers may not want to use or use as...

The Antiwar Comic: Tripwire

I love it when a comic comes together.  This is my new favorite Antiwar Comic.  Not to pat myself on the back too hard, but this one really came together, I think.  I'd be remiss if I didn't say that Justin Raimondo inspired the title.  It's a term he often uses in his columns at Antiwar.com. More comics at the Webcomic Factory.

Another DC Hawk Pundit Exposed as a Fraud

This time it's Robert Caruso. Expose by Brendan James in The Concorse. "Let’s begin with his résumé. Several sources close to Caruso say they never heard of him holding a job that went beyond an administrative assistant. 'His opinions should not be taken seriously,' said a onetime military colleague, who requested anonymity to avoid retaliation from Caruso. (As you’ll see, this is not an unreasonable fear). 'His opinion on Kit Kat bars should not be taken...
