COI #133: Biden’s Strikes in Iraq & Syria Put a Target on US Soldiers

COI_Logo

On COI #133, Kyle argues Biden's recent bombing of Iraq and Syria has created a more dangerous situation for the troops deployed to those countries. Biden said the goal of the strikes was to deter more violence directed at US soldiers. Predictably, the Shia militias in Iraq and Syria are responding to violence with violence. When Biden announced the strikes, he identified five times US troops have been targeted since April. Since the strikes, US troops have been targeted at least 6 times. Episode 536: The Left Doesn’t Want The Enemy They’re Creating w/ Army Vet Lee Enfield

En Bloc

60 Minutes PG-13 Lee Enfield is the proprietor of EnBlocPress.com and an Army Infantry veteran. Pete asked Lee to come on to answer questions that reference his experience of being in the military. Especially what a soldier would think if a country they just entered had fences built around their legislature, and the press and politicians were talking about their perceived domestic opponents in terms of needing to be "re-educated" or handled like "insurgents" overseas are. Yep, That’s How It Works Alright

Most Americans believe Russia targeted U.S. soldiers, want sanctions in response, Reuters/Ipsos poll shows "I don't believe anything the government tells me. Ever." --George Carlin "Nu-uh, you're dumb. Government is our leader." --Everybody else.

More Regarding The Latest Russiaphobia

Lee Camp makes the same point as Sheldon. Why pay for what you can get for free. We could talk about the context of the fact that the Taliban does not need to be paid to kill American soldiers because their entire goal for the past twenty years has been to kill American soldiers. Paying them a bounty would be like offering the guy sleeping with your wife twenty bucks to sleep with your wife.

Congress Wants Forever Wars

On FPF #513, I discuss the efforts in Congress to prevent Trump from bringing US troops home. After 19 years, there is a chance the US could end our longest war and bring troops home. However, members of Congress are working to pass provisions to the 2021 National Defense Authorization Act to prevent Trump from withdrawing troops from Afghanistan. House Dems have teamed up with the most hawkish Republicans, like Liz Chaney, to accomplish this goal. This unholy alliance will surely get more American soldiers killed in Afghanistan.

Dear Leader Hides in Bunker

Doing his best impression of Bush and Cheney on September 11th, Trump flees in cowardly terror to his underground bunker due to protests and riots outside. As though 1 the protesters had any intention of storming the White House and lynching the president or 2 that the cops and soldiers on premises would be unable to stop them if they tried. Surprised that Mr. All Politics is Daytime Cable News would seek to portray himself as such a weak, fearful little girl at a time like this, but he is what he...

Retired American Soldiers Captured in Failed Coup Against Maduro guest Will Porter

Will Porter returns to FPF to discuss the wild events during a recent coup attempt in Venezuela. Two Americans, along with 50-60 Venezuelans, landed on the shores of the country in an attempt to attest and overthrow Maduro. However, the Venezuelan government knew of the coup - as the plot was reported by AP - and the plotters were quickly captured. Will looks at the possibility the US government had a role in the coup and other important questions.

What Is Coronavirus Doing to the US Military guest WIll Porter

Will Porter returns to Foreign Policy Focus to discuss how the US military is being impacted by the coronavirus. Will explains that several DoD personnel have now tested positive and many soldiers are in quarantine. The Pentagon has scaled back some games, although others have been able to continue. The close quarters' soldiers live in - especially on ships - makes it likely the coronavirus will spread quickly. However, this has not prevented hawks in the Trump administration from pushing war with Iran.

The Chaos in Iraq guest Will Porter

Will Porter returns to the show to talk about the chaos in Iraq. Over the weekend, the US bombed several positions claiming to be striking back against the "Iranian-backed" Shia group that killed two Americans and a British soldier. However, the Iraqi government reports the US only killed Iraqi soldiers, police, and civilians. Will explains what the US is trying to do in Iraq and how Trump's policy is failing.  Links Vault 7...
