Why Waco Still Matters

mal (1)

The following article was originally published on Antiwar.com in 2005. On April 19, 1993, agents of the U.S. government assaulted the Branch Davidian “compound” at Waco, Texas – a religious community of Adventists under the leadership of David Koresh – killing 74 men, women, and children, including 12 children younger than five years of age. It was an act of state terrorism so blatant that our government and its media enablers have spent 12 years, several official reports [.pdf], and a lot of time and energy lying about the circumstances surrounding the event and covering up the truth....

How the Government Covered Up the Waco Massacre

The easiest way to achieve sainthood in Washington is to cover up a federal atrocity. Thus, it is no surprise that former senator John Danforth continues to be treated by the Washington Post as a visionary statesman. The Post showcased Danforth’s attack on Donald Trump in October after Trump derided the Commission on Presidential Debates. Danforth, a permanent member of that commission, is one of the top five “useful idiots for Leviathan,” according to the revised rankings after the death of John McCain. In the 1990s, Danforth received plaudits for being a “moderate” Republican who...

Who Helped McVeigh Blow Up Oklahoma City?

Okc

“How do 5 or 6 people see something and describe generally the same thing if it doesn’t exist?” — Dan Vogel, FBI Special Agent, Oklahoma City Field Office “If only one person had seen that, or two or three…but twenty-four? Twenty-four people say, yes I saw him [McVeigh] with somebody else? That’s pretty powerful.” — Danny Coulson, former Deputy Assistant Director FBI, founder of FBI Hostage Rescue Team and Special Agent-in-Charge of the Dallas FBI Field Office in April 1995. “My conclusion, after having interviewed these witnesses is that they did indeed see [John Doe #2]. And that in...

Techno-Agorist #37: Waco pt. 3 of 3 Judgment Day

Technoagorist 2000

My name is Ryan and I am an agorist. Two days ago was the 27th anniversary of the slaughter of the Branch Davidians in Waco by the federal government. My buddy Cam, host of the Make Liberty Great Again podcast and co-founder of the MLGA Network recently wrote and recorded a three-part mini-series on those fateful events and I it was too good not to share. This is Part three: Judgment Day. The children were gathered in an old vault in the middle of the complex. Huddled. Frightened. Held tightly by their mothers. Outside, sounds of tanks and the yells of men came through windows and...

Ruby Ridge Killings 27 Years Ago

Twenty-seven years ago today, a U.S. Marshal shot and killed 14-year-old Sammy Weaver in the back.  The boy was leaving the scene of a firefight that erupted after camouflaged marshals shot and killed his beloved family dog.  The following day, an FBI sniper killed Vicki Weaver as she stood in her cabin door holding her baby.  That sniper was never held liable for gunning down that mother on a north Idaho mountaintop.  William Barr was Attorney General when Ruby Ridge occurred and after he left office, he spearheaded legal efforts to assure total immunity for the sniper who killed Mrs....

Siege at Ruby Ridge: The Forgotten History of the ATF Shootout That Started a Militia Movement

The Siege at Ruby Ridge is often considered a pivotal date in American history. The shootout between Randy Weaver and his family and federal agents on August 21, 1992, is one that kicked off the Constitutional Militia Movement and left America with a deep distrust of its leadership – in particular then-President George H.W. Bush and eventual President Bill Clinton and Attorney General Janet Reno. The short version is this: Randy Weaver and his wife Vicki moved with their four kids to the Idaho Panhandle, near the Canadian border, to escape what they thought was an increasingly corrupt...

Bitter Lessons 25 Years after Waco, Texas, Siege

Twenty-five years ago today, FBI tanks smashed into the ramshackle home of the Branch Davidians outside Waco, Texas. After the FBI collapsed much of the building atop the residents, a fire erupted and 76 corpses were dug out of the rubble. Unfortunately, the American political system and media have never faced the lessons from that tragic 1993 day. Fifty-one days before the FBI final assault, scores of federal Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms agents launched an attack on the Davidians’ home spurred by allegations that they had converted semi-automatic rifles to full-automatic capacity....

Remember Waco.

So the Houston Chronicle is running a story about the real victims of the Waco Massacre -- the ATF paramilitary forces which launched their "Operation Showtime" raid on a peaceful home/church on a Sunday morning, killing 6 innocent people, and getting four of themselves killed before finally retreating. Well anyway look at this: Everything James Bovard ever wrote about it, Carol Moore's great book, The Davidian Massacre, and these two great documentaries put together by the late, heroic Mike McNulty: Waco: The Rules of Engagement and Waco: A New Revelation. Attorney General Janet Reno was...

Janet Reno: Justice Delayed was Justice Denied

In the early hours of November 7, Janet Reno died at the age of 78 from complications of Parkinson’s disease. Her niece “confirmed to CBS News that Reno died peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends.” It’s unfortunate that, unlike many of her victims, she was permitted to shuffle off this mortal coil a free woman, unpursued by the hounds of justice. Janet Reno had a lot to answer for. As state attorney for Dade County, Florida in the 1980s, Reno helped kindle a wildfire of moral panic in America over alleged widespread ritual child sex abuse, leading witch hunts in which...
