COI #283: Biden Brings the US Closer to War With Iran

On COI #283, Kyle Anzalone and Connor Freeman cover the latest news on Iran and the dwindling chances of the U.S. returning to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). Connor breaks down two major Israeli attacks inside Iran including the assassination of a senior IRGC colonel and a drone attack on an Iranian military facility. Tel Aviv is also claiming they have evidence showing Tehran had possession of IAEA documents almost two decades ago which allowed them to engage in a cover up of their supposed nuclear weapons program. Although the existence of such a program in Iran has...

United States to Give Extra $200 Million in Military Aid to Ukraine

The U.S. is giving Ukraine an additional $200 million in military aid that was approved by the Biden administration in December, a senior State Department official confirmed with reporters on Wednesday. The additional military aid was announced while Secretary of State Antony Blinken was in Kyiv. The official didn’t detail what military equipment would make up the new aid package. Since 2014, the U.S. has provided Ukraine with over $2.5 billion in military aid. Under the Trump administration, the U.S. started giving Ukraine lethal weapons, including Javelin anti-tank missiles and armed...

Salafis Throwing Bombs: How American and British Planners Partnered With Al-Qaeda Affiliated Groups At the Start of the Syrian Civil War

2011 syria protests.svg

Introduction In the mainstream view, al-Qaeda did not play a role in the Syria conflict until Islamic State of Iraq (ISI) leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi dispatched his deputy, Abu Muhammad al-Jolani, to Syria in August 2011 to establish a wing of the group there, called Jabhat al-Nusra, or the Nusra Front. Additionally, al-Qaeda allegedly did not carry out any military operations until December 2011 and did not announce its establishment until January 2012. However, there is evidence that al-Qaeda affiliated militants were involved in the Syrian conflict much earlier. Saudi intelligence...

The vote on the massive funding bill is expected to take place this...

9/6/21 Clive Stafford Smith on Ahmed Rabbani and the Other Innocent Men Being Held at Guantanamo Bay

Scott interviews Clive Stafford Smith about a recent article written by his client Ahmed Rabbani. Rabbani has been in custody for 19 years without a single charge being brought against him. In 2002 he found himself in the hands of the CIA who allegedly believed he was a man named Hassan Ghul. But even after the real Ghul was captured and brought to the same prison Rabbani was being kept in, the CIA kept trying to extract information from Rabbani. Ghul cooperated and was freed. But Rabbani was sent to Guantanamo Bay where he remains today. Smith explains some of the difficulties facing him...

COI #122: The US, Taliban, Israel, Hamas: Who Are the War Criminals?

COI_Logo

On COI #122, Kyle and Will break down a controversy centered on Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar, who landed in hot water after suggesting that the United States, Israel, Hamas and the Taliban all commit atrocities alike. While she was accused of equating "democratic countries" with "terrorists," Will and Kyle explain that the backlash was overwrought, and that Washington and Tel Aviv are, in fact, responsible for war crimes. The Pentagon is sounding alarms over two Iranian military vessels transiting the Atlantic Ocean, a first for Tehran's navy. Nobody knows for sure what the ships intend to...
